The client is responsible for the condition and safekeeping of the rental equipment and may be liable for any equipment which is lost, stolen, or damaged during the rental period. Rental Protection is provided to reduce a client’s financial liability during their rental of Metro Systems Ltd. equipment.
Financial liability refers to the loss or damage-related charges which could equal up to the new replacement value of the rental equipment, salvage costs & rental charges incurred during repair/replacement if the equipment is lost, stolen, or damaged.
Unless you have provided appropriate insurance cover approved by Metro Systems Ltd, rental protection is compulsory when establishing an account with Metro Systems Ltd. and automatically applied to all rentals.
What does Rental Protection cover?
Loss or damage to rental equipment caused by collision, fire, storm, accident, or earthquake.
Rental Protection will be charged at 10% of the repair or replacement of said equipment at a minimum of $200 whichever is greater.
Tire Protection
The Rental Protection includes protection for your tires. For every tire puncture occurrence, the first $50 of the puncture is covered under the Rental Protection at Metro System Ltd.
Some liability not covered by Rental Protection
Damage resulting from misuse or abuse of the equipment, negligent acts or omissions of the client, failing to maintain the equipment, or improper servicing or during transport including loading/unloading.
Loss or damage resulting from a breach of the terms of the rental agreement, including failing to protect the equipment from theft, loss, or damage.
Rental Vehicles
Rental Protection does not cover Metro Systems Ltd. rental vehicles at this time. Standard vehicles' insurance does apply in this case. The customer is responsible for all vehicle damages outside of standard wear and tear.
Rental Protection is not insurance or a substitute for insurance.
It is a non-refundable fee of 10% of the rental charges for the equipment and billed on the rental invoice in addition to your rental charges.
